About Us

Softplanet Productions is run by two brothers who have been making music together since long before it was a business.

John and Andy Montgomery are working musicians first — pianists, composers, arrangers — and everything we sell has come out of that. For thirty years we’ve been writing, recording and publishing music and music software, and for the last twenty-five we’ve been the people UK schools and colleges call when they need Sibelius licences installed, expanded or simply explained.

Alongside that we’ve produced original stage musicals, backing tracks and CDs of our own material. It’s a small operation, deliberately so: when you get in touch, you’re talking to one of us.
